Zander Zalver was sixteen when he won the twenty-fourth Hunger Games for District Eight, after killing only one Tribute in the Games while he fought. Soon after he returned home, his boyfriend, Hark, broke up with him for killing an innocent person.  Once the two were no longer a going concern, sixteen-year-old angsty Zander moved to the Capitol, leaving his mentoring duties to the Victor who followed him, the Games Victor who won the 24th Hunger Games for District 8. One day, while watching the Interviews for the 26th Games, he met Demosthenes Levesquè, Victor for District Three.

Demos, as his friends called him, was sixteen when he won the 25th Games. After returning to District Three once the Tour was over, he'd horrifically found out his mother, bother and sister were killed by the Capitol for his defiance in the Games, and his boyfriend, Stephen, because it was against Panem's laws for two men and/or two women to wed at the time. Devastated and distressed, Demos fled to the Capitol, swearing to avenge his kinship. He was watching the 26th Hunger Games Tribute Interviews one day, when he came across Zander Zalver, his true love.


Demos stared up at the starry night sky that was slightly darkened by the thief of Night but kitten like a blazing fire by the shimmering moon. He smiled, and turned his head so he could stare at Zander, who was laying the opposite direction of him.  Demos gave Zander a kiss on his forehead, ruffling his hair with his hand that took hold of his hair. "Zander, ya know what?" he asked his boyfriend, looking him straight in his eyes, his beautiful blue eyes.

Zanders brown eyes looked up at the star filled sky. He was surprised the capitol had this due to there extravagant way of dressing. The young district eight victor didn't think they would have wanted to get there cloths dirty. He didn't care...right now he was gazing at the sky and then he felt a kiss on his forehead. Then he felt a hand in his hair and he smiled as he knew it was Demos. His boyfriend. Zander then turned on his side to face Demos looking into those pretty blue eyes with his dreamy brown eyes." What babe." He spoke while shuffling on his side to be closer.

Demos grinned, now propping one elbow up and putting his body weight on it. "Zander Zalver, you are going to have an experience filled with many ups and downs on this Rollercoaster of Life, and you will see everything this world will give up to you. And I know I love you with all my heart, through thick and thin, I've loved you. I've loved you, despite Panem's laws, for eleven months now. I understand eleven months isn't very long, but tomorrow is promised to no man. And I don't know if either of us would see then. So, if I can be assured that if it is tomorrow that we die, I want to make sure we can say we were each other's," Demos said to his boyfriend, now placing himself on one knee. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a ring box and opened it, showing the dazzling blue ring with a red diamond on it. "Zander Zalver, will you marry me?"

Demos's grin softened into a warm smile as Zander replied. He was rather taken aback by the kiss, though it was soft and loving, and it was given to him by someone he cared dearly about. Demos grinned once more after the kiss, though the grin was replaced by a scream of joy when he fell back with Zander on top of him as if they were going to "do it". He laughed for minutes before saying hysterically, "You are the craziest person I've ever met, and I live you so much." Demos shook his head and leaned up so that he and Zanser were nose-to-nose, and h gave his fiancée a good, long kiss. When the kiss was over, he simply nodded and said (in reply to the acceptance), "We are the most insane could Panem has ever heard of, ya know?"

Demos shook his head after hearing Zander's reply. "Ya know, I never said there was anything wrong with being crazy," he said with a grin and laugh. He returned the Eskimo kiss, giggling like crazy. "And we aren't wacky. We're just... Completely and utterly insane Victors who just happened to find love and companionship within each other. And the ring? It's stuck to the white thing that holds in into the box, but we can get it in a bit," Demos said. "And you don't have to get off. It feels... Good."

Demos sighed and slowly melted like a slug swimming in a pool of salt, though this time it wasn't a feeling of distress he had; it was a feeling of love and assurance that allowed itself to be felt in Demos's body. He felt his fiancé's hand run down his body, and he couldn't help but grin when Zander placed a kiss in his neck. Demos hadn't ever had a hickey before; this was his first serious relationship. But he did know one thing about the neck-kiss: It felt good. It felt soooo good. He nodded at Zander's comment. "If only.... But unfortunately, my love, the world is not a wish-granting factory," Demos replied with a grin. He caressed Zander's body, feeling his great build and physique. "I love you." Demos pressed his lips against his fiancé's, creating a warm, soft kiss that embraces their abstract and unique love.

Demos nodded in response to Zander, his expression now rather gloomy. "I'm sure, Zander. Sometimes, things don't always go as planned." He tried to his his saddened face with a smile, though the depression still showed. But that's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt. The French kiss was wonderful, the first one Demos had ever had before. His depression was buried within a sea of list thoughts, and was replaced with the feeling of lust and love. "I love you more," Demos said after the kiss was over. The moonlight shown down on them, and Demos wished he had planned the night to be like this. "I didn't plan for the night to be this romantic and kind," he admitted to Zander. "The only part I did was buying the ring and leading you up here. And I wouldn't exactly call it luring, but more... Letting my lovely boyfriend-turned-fiancé follow me up the hill for our wonderful night of looking at the beautiful and bright shimmering stars," said Demos with a grin as Zander rubbed his neck.

Demos closed his eyes as he shook his head in reply to his fiancè. "It's nothing, babe; it's nothing but bitter memories, at least. But I can't change what's happened. I can only pray for better things to come."he said. He smiled when Zander rested his hands in his chest and acted as if he were a pillow. "But I love you... I'm the one who loved you first. And therefor, I will always love you teeny minutes longer than you will ever love me, so I will love you mostestest FOREVER!" Demos laughed at this; he tweaked the story a bit, of course, but only by eighteen minutes. "Why, yes it is." Demos gazed at all the collections of stars that created constellations. It was beautiful. "Hey, babe, I gotta take a piss. Could you get off me for a sec?"

Demos nodded. "Yes, weddings are very fun. And it's okay, babe; it's behind me," he said kindly to his fiancè. He laughed at Zander, who was making a fish face. Oh, how Demos loved him and his humorous self. Demos shook his head rapidly as he chortled. "Oh, I love you, Zander Zalver." Demos grinned wickedly as Zander lay on him, using him as a cushion. Almost immediately after his fiancé replied, Demos admitted, "Fine, Zandykins. You're right; it was only two minutes that I loved you before you began to love me." He chuckled. "And thanks," Demos said as he got up and unzipped his pants. He made his way over to a bush, did his business, and returned to Zander, forgetting to zip or button his jeans, though still grinning. (He didn't know his pants weren't zipped, you see.) Consequently, as he was walking back, his pants fell to his ankles, and his cheeks went bright red.

Demos saw his fiancé unbutton all but one of the buttons on his shirt. Demos relevantly crept closer to Zander, though on his way he tripped over his pants. Sighing, he took off his pants completely and continued on his trip to the Unbuttoning. Demos finally reached Zander and unbuttoned his shirt, kissing him as he felt his bare chest. "I love you so so so much," he said quietly after the kiss. Demos's hands danced down to Zander's belt buckle, but stopped there as if asking for permission. After a while, he finally said, "We don't have to if you don't want to, Zander. We could wait until the wedding."
